‘Rama’ is a Norf’k word that describes the act of foraging for seafood at night time. This is a tradition of the Norfolk Island people of Polynesian descent, and this song celebrates a vibrant part of auwas kamfrom (our heritage).
In the Tahitian language ‘Rama’ means torch … so this film clip explores the significance of both languages when celebrating our connection to place.
